Equipment, continued

The most important piece of equipment is our $145,000 two section Coe double incline shaker. One part of the shaker grabs the tree trunk and shakes the cherries off of the trees. The other part works on the opposite side of the trees and uses a conveyer belt to load the cherries into the empty tanks. Each section is self-propelled and requires an operator. Both are covered with padded inclined panels that cushion the impact of the cherries to prevent bruising and roll them down to the conveyer belt.

In operation, Jim or John drive the shaking part of the equipment shown above. The section below follows on the opposite side of the trees and collects the cherries on a conveyer belt, which carries the cherries to tanks on the rear. From there, forklifts can pick them up and take them out of the orchard.

 Apple Journal
Tens of thousands of us suffer from chronic and often debilitating pain. Many strategies and products have emerged promising relief. Sorting through the claims and counter-claims is not easy.

We recommend that you become informed and excercise discretion when reading promises of miracle cures. The connection between diet and pain management has been solidly established, and research continues. As always, consulting closely with your physician is essential in any pain management program.
